NEW: Acupuncture
Originating about 2000 years ago, acupuncture is Chinese Medicine that promotes general health and disease prevention by adjusting the flow of energy through a person's bioenergy system. A session begins with a licensed acupuncturist gathering information about the person -- through questions, observation, looking at the tongue, and a refined system of pulse diagnosis -- to assess the energy in the different meridians. The primary treatment includes the insertion and manipulation of fine needles at specific points on the patient's body. A session may incorporate other techniques of Oriental Medicine, such as Herbology (prescribing herbal formulas for the patient to take daily for a period of time after the treatment), Moxa (burning herbs to warm the acupuncture points) and cupping (using suction to draw out toxins and move stagnation). Lifestyle and diet recommendations may also be provided. Acupuncture is commonly used for treating pain, digestive problems, menstrual problems, mental/emotional problems, sinus congestion, menopause, healing from injuries and surgeries, and much more. However, acupuncture can be used when there is no "condition" in particular, keeping your energy balanced and flowing to prevent diseases from developing.
Acupressure
Acupressure is energy work that also releases the muscles. Using the same system of points and meridians as Acupuncture, acupoints are held in combination, usually with a deeply held point in the back combined with more lightly held points on the front. Acupressure feels great for tension that is focused on one or a very few points, as these points can be held for a longer time for deeper release, and acupressure can also be used to address systemic complaints, such as low energy, difficulty sleeping, digestive problems and emotional issues.
Advanced Acupressure sessions are conducted by a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist (MSOM, LAc), and also begin with an Oriental Medicine diagnosis.
Amanae®
During this emotional-release bodywork, specific doorways are
opened in the tissue of the body, allowing the release of deeply
held emotion or trauma. A simple breathing technique assists you
in shifting the disharmony out of the body. The process can free
you to be and to express your authentic self. (Not a massage.)
Ayurveda
Originating in India thousands of years ago, Ayurveda places great emphasis on prevention, and encourages the maintenance of health through close attention to balance in one's life including body, mind and consciousness according to one's own individual constitution. Ayurvedic consultation involves questioning, observation (eyes, tongue, face), gentle palpation (pulse) as well as recommendations, and takes about 1-1/2 hours. Abhyanga, whole body oilation, is the gentle application of individual-specific oil to the skin with light and long strokes on limbs and circular ones on joints. Marma Point acupressure uses light finger presure over specific energy points that gently drains away tension and stress, leaving you feeling relaxed and balanced, re-centered in the self. These services are available individually, or can be combined with each other. Ayurveda is a holistic and preventative approach, not a substitue for Western allopathic medicine. Acute problems and management of specific diseases are referred to a medical provider.
Aquatic Energy Work
AEW brings the principles of Energy Work into the flow of aquatic bodywork such as Watsu®, WaterDance or Healing Dance. While being held and gently moved and stretched in water, the practitioner locates and facilitates the movement or release of energetic constrictions that are ready for change and support a space that can help awaken you to a deeper understanding of your growth and healing process.
Bodywork Instruction for Couples
Learning to share unconditional, therapeutic touch is a great way to bring people closer together. Bodywork Instruction for couple provide a safe and supervised space where your instructor will guide you through the element of presence and techniques (Massage, Shiatsu, Energy Work or Watsu®) that are appropriate to your level of experience as well as to the needs of your friend who is receiving from you. You will be guided with instruction, feedback, and encouragement during more than a half hour, then you and your friend will trade roles: the giver will receive and the receiver will give with the support and guidance of attentive and personal coaching. To find out more about the different type of bodywork, please see the specific description of Massage, Shiatsu, Energy Work and Watsu®.
Cranio-Sacral
Balancing
This technique is extremely gentle, non-intrusive, yet very specific.
The CS practitioner's attention is on the cranio-sacral rhythm,
a very subtle movement, and light touch is applied on the cranial
bones, the sacrum and at the interconnected membranes. After a
session you will feel deeply relaxed and balanced.
NEW: Crystal Light Bath
This unique treatment style combines the power of Color and Crystal Healing Therapy, and is further enhanced by the blessings from the Entities of the Casa -- the Spiritual Light Beings that work in and around the Casa de Dom Inacio in Brazil. Seven clear and highly-polished, cut-quartz crystals suspended above an individual lying on a massage table fully-clothed. Each crystal has been cut to a specific frequency, and is aligned above each energy center or chakra. Colored lights, matching the chakra colors, radiate light and energy through the crystals to each respective chakra, shining on and off in certain rhythms to cleanse, balance and align your energies. The one receiving the session rests face up, with eyes closed, bathing in the energy. The health-giving effect of crystal-light therapy is that the well-organized vibration resonating from the crystals helps to organize and restructure the water in our tissues and cells. Since we are made up of 80-90% water this carries extremely strong implications for how our health can be affected. (30-, 45-, and 60-minute sessions available)

Fluidics
Fluidics is deep massage in warm water. It combines Watsu®, Healing Dance and/or Waterdance with a variety of traditionally land-based bodywork techniques, to produce an aquatic bodywork session that is nurturing, deeply relaxing, and specifically therapeutic.
Foot
Reflexology
This dynamic, ancient healing art and science addresses the vital
energy (ch'i) in the body. The focus is to stimulate and clear
congestions in the meridians, allowing the energy to flow freely
so that the body can achieve a state of balance. This self-healing
process is facilitated by specific acupressure and massage techniques
applied to the major reflex points and meridians on the
feet.
Hot Stones Massage
A soothing and relaxing full-body massage that uses smooth, heated volcanic stones. The hot stones penetrate deep into the tissue, transmitting heat and energy as you receive long, flowing strokes. The therapist might also leave heated stones in specific points along your spine, or in the palms of your hands, or even between your toes to improve the flow of energy in your body.
Lymphatic
Massage
This is a highly effective technique for purifying and rejuvenating
the body by stimulating the lymph drainage system. It helps flushing
out toxins and activating the immune system. You will feel relieved
from stress and refreshed.
Personal
Retreat Services
What are your goals for your visit to Harbin Hot Springs? How
can you best learn about and take advantage of everything
that Harbin offers? Our Personal Retreat Services offers a brief

Shiatsu
Shiatsu means "finger pressure" in Japanese. Using a
series of techniques practitioners apply rhythmic finger pressure
at specific points on the body in order to stimulate chi (vital
energy), and stretches to release blockages on the body's energy
ways (meridians).
Advanced Shiatsu sessions are conducted by a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist (MSOM, LAc), and also begin with an Oriental Medicine diagnosis.
Trager
What could be softer, lighter and freer? The practitioner hooks
up to a state of oneness, and – using holding, lengthening,
compressing, rocking, shaking and jiggling – gently helps
your mind relax, your body let go of tension and pain and your
being re-experience its natural state of peace.
Water
Dance
This is an advanced Watsu® technique in which the receiver
is wearing a nose plug and is guided under water. Elements of
Aikido, rocking, dolphin movements are combined into a beautiful
dance. Sequences above and below the water change rhythmically
depending on breathing capacity. Deep states of relaxation and
meditation may occur. We recommend that you experience a Watsu®
before receiving Water Dance
