Fern Retreat Building

This retreat building is just steps from the main site pool area, and houses private guest rooms, plus the men's and women's dormitories.

Fern Guest Kitchen

This fully-equipped vegetarian kitchen is available for guest use throughout the day, with storage space, refrigerators, stoves, oven, dishes/utensils, community tables, etc.

Showers & Dressing Room

Immediately adjacent to the pool area, the showers and dressing room (toilets, sinks and limited locker space) is open to guests 24 hours a day.

Spring Pools

Dating from the 1800s, the hot, warm, and cold pool complex is the "heart" of Harbin. These communal pools are preserved as spaces for silent soaking and meditation. All pools are clothing-optional.

Sauna & Steam Building

Warm yourself in the dry sauna or steam room. Then prepare for a bracing dip in our spring-fed cold plunge just outside.

The Heart Pool

This family-friendly warm spring pool welcomes quiet conversation during the daytime hours.

Swimming Pool

This 100-year-old “swimming tank” is filled with refreshing cold spring water during the summer months, and slightly warmer water in the winter months. It is surrounded by large deck areas for clothing-optional sunning.

La Sirena Café

This outdoor poolside café serves light lunches, beverages, and smoothies during the summer months.

Upper Sundeck

On dry summer nights, this large sundeck becomes a sleeping bag camping area under the stars.

Village Path

The Meadow Camping area is a 10-minute walk away on this wooded trail. Bring a flashlight at night!

Redwood Massage Office

The Health Services department and massage rooms are housed in the Redwood Building, under the poolside deck. Stop in with questions, or to make an appointment for massage, Watsu, or other available treatments.

Guest Cottages

Three unique, private cottages offer the perfect setting for a couple’s retreat, or romantic getaway. Luxury amenities include air conditioning.

Walnut & Azalea Retreat Buildings

These charming retreat buildings overlook the mainside lawns, and house uniquely-decorated private guest rooms.

Gazebo & Bazaar

The historic Gazebo is a great meeting place, while the nearby lawn becomes an open-air marketplace in the summer.

Theater & Sundeck

Tucked below the sundeck is our video theater, offering screenings every evening.

Stonefront Building

This multi-use building houses a guest lounge and meeting room, reading library, cyber-lounge, plus various food service options.

Restaurant, Market & Café

Our lovely Restaurant, serves breakfast and dinner every day. Choose indoor seating by the fireside, or alfresco dining overlooking the garden. The Harbin Market offers a fine selection of fresh produce, snacks, beverages, prepared lunches, and more. The Blue Room Café offers espresso, teas, beverages, and more.

The Temple

This amazing structure is home for daily yoga, kirtan, spiritual gatherings, concerts and more. Check the activity calendar upon your arrival.

Community Garden

A lovely place to relax and reconnect with the bounty of nature, the garden features flower and vegetable patches planted and maintained by our residents.

Reception Office & Bookstore

Room guests check-in and check-out here during daytime hours. Our staff is available to answer questions, provide trail maps, rental towels, take messages, etc. Be sure to browse the interesting selection at the lobby bookstore.

Phoenix & Labyrinth

Walk the labyrinth, then enjoy a meditative moment at the Phoenix as guests stroll by on their way up to the pools.

Dragon Gate
